

Francis Judson Carter was the third of three children born to John Spurgeon Carter Sr. and Lula Bell Coker Carter on December 11, 1933. He left this world on March 25, 2017, to live in his heavenly home. He was a kind, generous and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Jud graduated from Roosevelt High School in Atlanta, GA. He served in the United States Army for two years and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1960. He had a long and successful career at Lockheed Georgia Company where he worked as an Engineer. Jud always had a love for flying, and he built and flew several experimental aircraft. He also enjoyed playing cards with friends, spending time with his family and is remembered by many for being a true Southern Gentleman. Jud traveled extensively with Lockheed and with his wife. He had many lasting friendships both at home and abroad.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jacqueline Hardman Carter, his brother John Spurgeon Carter, Jr., his sister-in-law, Betty McClung Carter, his sister Lucille Elizabeth Carter Roumillat, his brother-in-law, Ulysses Charles Roumillat, and his nephews, Charles Alan Carter, John Michael Carter, and Steven Damien Roumillat.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie Carter Carpenter (Monroe) and Joan Louise Carter, his grandchildren, Brittany Ann Schwartz (Eric), Amy Lynn Carpenter, Keylon Carter Carpenter, Jacqueline Grace Stringer, and John Wallace Carpenter. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Rebecca Carter and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
He was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
