

Frederick “Rick” Arzet, age 86, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on December 22, 2024. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on June 4, 1938, to Frederick and Martha Arzet. Rick graduated from Broad Ripple High School in June 1955, and the next day, he joined the Navy, serving from June 1955 to June 1963.
Rick was employed by Berkshire Hathaway, specializing in church sales since 1997. Prior to working with church sales, he was in residential real estate starting in 1971. Rick was part of the initial team that helped build one of the largest real estate companies in the world, Coldwell Banker. Over the years, Rick worked with many companies in the business.
In his spare time, Rick enjoyed working on various cars he had collected. He loved telling stories, ranging from meeting Elvis Presley to watching bullfights in Barcelona, Spain. One of his favorite stories was about his encounter with a freight train in 1976, involving his new Cadillac Seville. Rick spent over 35 years supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. Rick also supported many of the churches he worked with and donated to them regularly.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Martha Arzet; his sister, Sally Stone; his brother, Paul Arzet; and his great-grandson, Jett Owens.
Rick is survived by his three children: Karla Beverly of Villa Rica, Georgia; Kurtis Arzet of Marietta, Georgia; and Kathy (Scott) Galbreath of Duluth, Georgia. He is also survived by his five grandchildren: Zach Owens (Dru Ann) of Blairsville, Georgia; Bo (Livvy) Stalvey of Newborn, Georgia; Shelby (Patrick) Sanderson of Auburn, Alabama; Blaine Galbreath of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Zeta Galbreath of Duluth, Georgia. He is survived by his great-grandchildren: Ruger and Mauvi Owens of Blairsville, Georgia; Major Stalvey of Newborn, Georgia; and Colt and Campbell Sanderson of Auburn, Alabama. Additionally, Rick is survived by his ex-wife, but now a dear friend, Pat Arzet, and many nieces and nephews living in Florida, Indiana, and the Atlanta area. Rick is also survived by a brother, Bill Arzet of Florida, and a sister Barbara Pike of Minnesota.
The family will receive guests from 12:00pm, with a service following at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at H. M. Patterson and Son, Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, GA 30068.
