George was a graduate of the University of Illinois, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a former executive at Amoco Chemical Corporation in Chicago. He was proceeded in death by his wife, Judith, and leaves behind his two children, two grandchildren (Rebecca and David), and a great grandson (Quentin).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 9th at 10:00 AM at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church at 1790 Lavista Rd. N.E., Atlanta. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to University of Illinois Bands at their website: http://bands.illinois.edu/giving
