Jerry lived to love his family and dedicate himself to assuring their needs were met. With wife, Linda, he raised three sons, now all living in Marietta, Georgia. His three older sisters, Barbara and husband Don Ruff (Scottsdale, Arizona), Virginia (now deceased) and Carolyn Noller (Rio Vista, Texas) showed him the key to good family relations – needs and obligations take teamwork and cooperation.
The youngest child and only son of Myrven and Frances Scott of Monrovia, California, Jerry was born on November 8, 1947 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Altadena. After attending schools in Monrovia and Corona del Mar, California, he attended college at Arizona State University where he pledged Kappa Sigma fraternity. He joined the United States Naval Reserve in 1971 during the Vietnam war and was Honorably Discharged in 1975.
Jerry and Linda married in 1972 in Newport Beach, California. Soon after that he joined Lockheed Martin in Burbank as a Cost Estimator. Determined to succeed in providing for his family, Jerry moved the family across the country with Lockheed from Burbank, California to Marietta, Georgia in 1970, while maintaining close ties to his California family. He retired from Lockheed in 2006.
A lifelong Episcopalian, Jerry grew up attending St. Luke’s church in Monrovia, followed by St. Peter and St. Paul’s and St. Catherine’s in Marietta. Jerry is survived by his wife Linda Mercedes Scott, son Garrett Reeve Scott and grandson Christopher Brock Scott, son Eric Christopher Scott, and son Adam Hobbie Scott, his wife Mahala Gabrielle Pruitt and granddaughter Margot Hobbie Scott.
