When I was a young girl and lived in Twiggs County.....I was probably in 7th or 8th grade ....Glynn Mathis was our Principal and coach.....he was the best ever and all of us girls had a crush on him......he probably knew it. He encouraged me and my sister to play ball with the team at school so we did.....but he had to take us home after practice and we loved that and enjoyed riding in his big fish tail car.....he was such a nice guy and we all loved him very much. I only wished that I could have found him later in life and could have visited him....I always remembered his kindness....Mr Mathis and one of the other teachers came up with another award just for me called the Excellence Award.....they presented this to me and I never forgot this. I just loved him so much and I know he was very dear to his family......so sorry.......love to his family from one of his Twiggs County students 1961.....my name then Barbara Kay Little.....I just found out about his passing......so sorry.....
