Grace Valery

Grace Eaves Valery, 86, of Marietta, passed away on March 5, 2017. She was born in Habersham County, Georgia, to her late parents, James E. Eaves and Gladys Wikle Eaves Sutton. Grace was a graduate of Clarkesville High School. She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. Grace loved Walton High School where she was a substitute teacher, and would always watch the homecoming parade. She delighted in watching her grandsons march in the North Cobb High School Marching Band. Grace enjoyed watching the Braves and the Falcons, as well as college football teams, Georgia and Georgia Tech. She is survived by daughters, Sharon Valery (John Owens), of Marietta, and Terri Copeland (Mark), of Kennesaw; grandsons, Jeff Copeland (Megan), of Acworth, and Kevin Copeland, of Kennesaw; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Valery and her son, Alan Valery. Visitation will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM. A funeral service will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:30AM. The family will be accepting guest one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association, heart.org.
