

Harry Richard Devereux passed away with family at his side in Marietta, GA. on February 27, 2014 at the age of 90. He was born on May 15, 1923, the son of Genevieve and Harry R. Devereux, Sr. in Cleveland, OH. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp in Oregon and Washington states. He landed at Normandy Beach in France on D-Day while serving under General Patton in the U.S. Army during WW I I in the 81st Field Artillery Battalion.
He worked for Stouffer Restaurants in Cleveland, OH, Oberlin College in Ohio, and American Heritage Academy in Davie, Florida. He was married to Grace Marie Zeber Devereux, who passed away in 2011, for 57 years. They lived in Marietta,GA for the last 16 years.
He is survived by his sister Helena Warren of Metter, GA. He is survived by children Jill, Bruce and daughter-in-law Jacquie Natterer, and Gail and son-in-law Don Lightfoot, and was preceded in death by son-in-law William Robeck. He was revered by grandchildren Julie, Lori(deceased), Eric, and Ryan and great-grandchildren Sarah, Jeremy, Lauren, Chris, Nicholas, and Cara and extended family Donald Jr., Christy, and Stephanie and their families.
The family will honor his memory with a private family service. He will be buried with Grace at Kennesaw Memorial Park. Donations may be made to the any United States Veterans charity or the USO.
