Mr. Henry C. Haley, 78, of Atlanta, passed away peacefully at his home in Calhoun on December 4, 2013. He is the son of George and Naomi Haley who preceeded him. "Let me tell you this", Henry began his career as a paper boy at age 11, bought a building at 17 and then rented the building to the newspaper. So began his real estate ambitions. He attended Brown High School and graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1952. He graduated from the University of Georgia and received a degree from Atlanta Law School. He was employed by First Federal Savings & Loan and also Security Federal Savings & Loan, as an appraiser. He became the broker for his own real estate company, Georgia Land Brokers, in 1966. He retired on Wednesday. He served in the Army Reserves and was a long-time member of the Cherokee Town & Country Club. He was a very generous and giving man. In fact, his stretches of giving were far above his family as he provided many others the opportunity to pursue a college education. He and his wife, Martha Ann raised their 3 children in Marietta and attended Eastside Baptist Church. He is survived by Martha Ann and his daughter, Christine (David) Fisher of Rome, Ga, his sons, Nathaniel Haley of Girdwood, Alaska and Calvin Haley of Marietta. The old expression "they threw away the mold" could not be more true than the one that created Henry. What a guy! Our friendship covers decades and so many discussions," Let me say this" rings so many bells. Truly one of a kind in the best sense of the word. I was blessed to call him my friend. Go in peace, friend, if anyone is with God, Henry is surly there.

Attended Sylvan Hills Elementary as well as high school with Henry. He could stand and talk to the class as long as the teacher would allow. We had a lot of fun back in the day. We will all miss Henry.
