Ian Edward Dyer, age 21, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away on June 29, 2019. Ian was born in Austell, Georgia to William & Kim Dyer. He graduated from Walton High School in 2015 and was a Senior at Kennesaw State University studying Communications. Ian was a talented musician having accomplished the trumpet, guitar and piano. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hiking and shooting firearms. Ian earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout. For his project, he designed and built portable bike racks for the MS Society of Georgia to use during their rides.
Ian is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John Randolph and Evelyn Dyer. He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents; sister, Helen Dyer; brothers, Shawn (Cindy) Dyer and Heath (Kim) Dyer; two nieces, Ivey and Sydney; and maternal grandparents, Marka Merrick and Sam and Cheryl Wilder.
The family will celebrate Ian’s life at a memorial service on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11:00am at East Cobb United Methodist Church, in Marietta. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow the service.
