

She moved from Yakima to Marietta Georgia in 2004 to be close to her son WIlliam Lee Hassell and his wife Joyce.
She was born May 29, 1921 in Yakima to Alice and Chester Miller.
Iris was preceded in death by her husband William Henry Hassell, her sister, Marjorie and brother Clifford. She attended school in Yakima and married William (Bill) Hassell in 1942.
Iris and Bill had an electronics and background music service business for some 30 years in Yakima. They were avid travelers throughout the northwest, camping and boating with friends.
Iris sang with Bel Canto Choral Society for some 30 years and was part of the Bel Canto Sextet.
After Iris and Bill retired, their travel extended to the southwest in their motorhome and their famous purple dune buggy. They built a new home near Randle Washington and were firsthand witnesses to the Mt. St. Helen eruption in 1980.
She is survived by her two sons, William (Bill) Lee Hassell and Dennis Edward Hassell, with 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am November 15 at Grace of Life (First Presbyterian) Church in Yakima, Washington. Coordination of the event is through Bill Hassell at 770-596-5391.
