Iris Williams Jackson

April 17, 1925 – April 26, 2018
IN THE CARE OF

H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel

Iris Williams Jackson, age 93, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on April 26, 2018. Mrs. Jackson was born in Hodgenville, Kentucky in 1925 to John N. & Emma Daugherty Williams. She graduated from Hodgenville High School and went on to work for Converse College Bookstore. She later retired from O’Neal Steel Company. Iris had resided in Marietta for the past 48 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing and later in life, bowling with friends and neighbors. As a former Parc at Piedmont resident, she met many new friends and enjoyed their times together. She leaves behind a loving family who are grateful for the many years they shared with her.

Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Don C. Williams; and, her husband, Dwight Jackson. She is survived by her two sons, William Dwight (Nancy) Jackson of Pawley’s Island, SC, and Don S. (Becky) Jackson of Spartanburg, SC; her daughter, Teresa J. (Robert) Sampson of Marietta, Georgia; granddaughters, Jill J. (Ray) Vanabel of Sarasota, Florida, Laurie M. Jackson of Spartanburg, SC, Stephanie E. Jackson of New York City, and Ashley S. (Will) Glass of Arlington, VA; grandson Justin R. Sampson of McLean, VA; great-grandson, Eric Christian Bagley of Spartanburg, SC; great-granddaughter, Eleanor V. Glass of Arlington, VA.

The family will honor Iris at a graveside service at a time and date to be determined.
