

Jim was born to parents Effie Ayash Mahan and James Thomas Mahan Sr. on December 3, 1950 in Murphy, North Carolina. When he was a teen, the family moved to Decatur, Georgia where he and his brother, David, attended Gordon High School. In 1972, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Nunn Mahan, on the same day as he graduated from The University of Georgia in Athens. They were married 43 years.
Mary and Jim had two children, Kelly Mahan Musselwhite and Michael James Mahan. He was the co-founder of WinWare, Inc. (CribMaster) and loved building their company for 21 years until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of Suntree United Methodist Church in Melbourne, Florida.
Jim was hilarious, humble, generous, and was incredibly strong in his faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Kelly, son Michael, daughter-in-law Leah Elizabeth Mahan, son-in-law Thomas Allen Musselwhite, mother Judge Effie Ayash Mahan and brother David Joseph Mahan. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10:00am at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church at 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, Georgia 30068.
