Janet Louise Meyers

Janet Louise Meyers, 97, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on December 31, 2017. She was born in State College, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1920, to parents Harriet Hecker and Neil Fleming. Janet received a BA from Penn State University. She had a lifelong passion for golf and was a member of Indian Hills Country Club in Marietta. At Indian Hills, she was a founding member of the Women’s Golf Association and also started the Junior Golf Program. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, William Oliver Meyers and her son, William Oliver Meyers, Jr. She is survived by daughter, Jayne Meyers Hammond (Denton); son Neil Fleming Meyers (Kathy); grandchildren, Denton Ray Hammond, Jr., Kathleen Meyers Campbell, Abigail Anne Hammond, MaryAnn Meyers, and Kevin Thomas Meyers; great-grandchildren, Zoey Avery Hammond, Darby Reese Hammond, and Louise Olivia Campbell. A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00PM. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donation to be made in Janet’s memory to a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society fund set up in the memory of a close family friend.
