Jan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She treasured time spent with her loved ones above all else. Jan also held a special place in her heart for nature, finding quiet joy in watching birds and appreciating the peaceful beauty of the world around her.
Jan dedicated most of her career to supporting charitable causes, generous with her incredible gift of time. In South Carolina, she worked with the Council on Aging and Senior Catering, a non-profit organization dedicated to preparing meals for the elderly. Even after retiring, Jan’s passion for service never faded. Upon moving to Marietta, she actively sought out ways to immerse herself in her new community, continuing her lifelong commitment to church volunteerism and local outreach.
Jan shared 46 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Ralph. In their early years together, she traveled alongside Ralph through his various duty assignments during his service in the U.S. Navy. The couple eventually settled in South Carolina, where they built a home and community for 35 years. Following Ralph’s passing in 2015, Jan moved to Marietta to be closer to her family, creating precious memories with her grandsons during her final years.
Jan is survived by her son, Ralph, and daughter-in-law, Karen; her grandsons, Ralph and Michael; her brother, Ron; and her nieces, Jennifer and Becky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
