Jackie was born to the late Christian and Anita Flynn on September 2, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Beaumont High School in 1955 and married Norb Koziatek, her high school sweetheart, on June 16, 1956. Jackie moved 23 times throughout the U.S. and overseas, creating a home in each location, lovingly raising a family of four children and supporting her husband's service in the U.S. Army. A “model” Army officer’s wife, she hosted parties and events with ease, as well as mentored Junior Officer wives with grace and elegance – she was our “Jackie O”. Jackie loved dancing, arts and crafts, gardening, decorating, cooking, baking and sewing. As a consummate homemaker, she enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family. She welcomed friends warmly into their home.
Jackie is survived by her husband, retired Col. Norb Koziatek, USA and her children Cheryl Groth, Debbie Liberty, Kevin Koziatek and Cindy Bush. In addition to her children, she is survived by 10 grandchildren: Tyler, Christian, Rochelle, John Paul, Zachary, Alec, Logan, Maria Camila, Samantha and Kolbe; and six great grandchildren Jaxon, Naomi, Griffin, Kai, Zoe and Ella. Her memory will be forever cherished.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Marietta, Georgia. Following the service, the family will host a reception at St. Ann’s. Jackie will be laid to rest at 2:30 pm on October 27, 2023 at The Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
