Jeanne Foote, 94, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her Sterling Estates home on February 25, 2015. She was born January 11, 1921; in Washington, D.C. to Edward and Evelyn Ardinger and grew up in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.
After graduating high school she married G. Ward Foote II and moved to Atlanta, GA. Jeanne and Ward were avid gardeners whose lakeside home in Marietta was the site of several garden tours. Their beautifully landscaped yard reflected their love of gardening in that it was filled with hundreds of day lilies, hostas, and azaleas.
Survivors include four children, Betsy F. Savory of Calhoun, GA; Judy F. Rose of Englewood, FL; George W. Foote III of Roswell, GA; and Nancy J. Foote-Adams of Roswell, GA; and her younger sister Joan Madden of Annapolis, MD; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
A graveside memorial service and burial will take place at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery; Washington, D.C. Cremation arrangements are being handled by H.M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill Chapel.
