OBITUARY

Jeannine Christensen

October 16, 1932November 18, 2019

Ms Jeannine was not only a Dear Client of Mine, she became the Dearest of a Friend. We initially connected as I inquired as to the spelling of her last name, ending in ‘sen’ rather than ‘on’. I noted it was a Danish spelling ( my wife is Danish). She told me of her marriage to a Wonderful Man with Danish heritage. Our relationship continued to unfold for years to come.

She is now another of my Dearest Client Friends that I have had the Opportunity to say Good Bye, and that I Love Them, within hours of them becoming a New Angel with Our Heavenly Father. She had the Strength to Lift Her Chin to me, looking for the Last Goodbye kiss. I have told her for years “we love you”, and in recent bedridden months offered a kiss on the cheek. As a Sweet Little Lady would naturally do, she would turn her face to receive my kiss on her lips. And Now, in weakness, even though she couldn’t speak a word, She moved her face with All her strength for That Last Goodbye Kiss.

I have never had such honor as to Send Her Off from This Life, into Her Eternal Life, in That Manner. I Did Love Her, and She knew I would take care of her matters left behind. And She knew Each of You Loved Her too.

We Celebrate Her Incredibly Successful Life beginning in Dijon, France to Her Resting Place here in Atlanta. She was a Proud Woman, and Rightfully So; and Now A Proud Angel.

I am Jeannine’s friend and neighbor of eight years. My husband, Randy and I, and our seven children live across the street from her. The first time we met, she excitedly asked if we were Catholic because she saw a statue of the Blessed Mother on our front porch. She was thrilled to find out we were. She had not been going to Mass for years because she was no longer driving and had no one to take her. She had faithfully prayed her rosary every day, but couldn’t get to Mass. We believe God placed us here across, from her to bless us both. We took her to Confession then to Mass shortly after that first meeting. Jeannine cried every time she received communion, tears of joy. It was a beautiful thing to see.
From then on we took her to Mass every week and every Holy Day for as long as she was able. She never wanted to miss Mass. it was the most joyous day of her week. We were blessed so by having her with us at Mass and we had that time with her to laugh and hear her stories in the car. We shared birthdays, holidays and special dinners with her. . She was able to attend First Holy Communion and Confirmation for several of the kids and would reminisce about her own First Communion as a child in France. She told us of her family, her mother and father, her sisters and the church she attended. She also shared stories of her husband and her deep love for him. She often spoke of her brother-in-law Allan and how much she loved him and his family and how good they always were to her.
My children loved to hear her stories. She loved them so and called them her babies. Their lives are fuller because they have known Jeannine and I am so thankful for that.
She was a devout Catholic who had a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and near the end of her life, a devotion to the Divine Mercy. She faithfully prayed many rosaries each day.
We are so grateful to have known her and she will be with us in our hearts and in prayer always.

I am Jeannine's sister-in-law. I've loved Jeannine ever since my brother Dan told me about her and that they were going to be married. Jeannine made him so happy. He loved her very much and was so proud of her. He would tell us stories about her over the phone and laugh because he found her delightful. She was truly an amazing person. Our relationship was long distance mostly over the phone. We shared many talks filled with life's problems as well as blessings. When you share a love of chocolate you can talk about anything. We will miss her dearly. I am so grateful for the friends around her who have taken such good care of her especially when she could no longer care for herself. Thank you all so very much. LeRae Hill

I am Jeannine's Brother-in-Law. I first got to know Jeannine really well was at my brother's funeral 29 years ago. Distance & health has kept us from seeing each other but our friendship has gown over the years as we visited by telephone. Our talks were about many things but we always ended with "I love you" & we prayed for each other daily. I am very very grateful for all of you who have become good friends with Jeannine & have gone well beyond the call of duty to make her life a happy one & especially during the past few years & months. You all are very special people in my book & have renewed my faith that there are very very good people everywhere. Thank you very much for all the good you have done & continue to do. Mrs. Jeannine was my employer. Working with her everyday and getting to know her was a great experience. She was smart, funny, and strong willed. We had lots of time together and we talked about all kinds of things such as gardening, cooking and both of our love for God. She loved her chocolate and always offered me some. She would say stuff like I want some of my cheese, the good stuff and I knew exactly what she meant. So I would just like to say thank you Mrs. Jeannine got letting me in and opening up to me. I enjoyed all the laughs and felt all the love you gave. Now your a heavenly angel and will be true my missed. May God bless you my friend.
