Jeff McCarthy, age 54, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on April 8, 2025. Born in 1970 to the late George and Margaret McCarthy, he graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Jeff was employed by Alexton Incorporated and had a passion for hiking in national parks, spending time with family—especially during the holidays—watching Braves baseball and UGA football, and playing video games. He also proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Gulf War.
He is survived by his children: Christopher, Nathan, and Elise McCarthy; his step-mother, Lillian McCarthy, his brother, Christopher McCarthy; and sisters, Wendi Peterson and Tara Grimmer.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, followed by interment at Georgia National Cemetery.
