Joanne Catherine Hubbard

In 1960, Joanne also married her husband, Don V. Hubbard. The Hubbard's lived in several places throughout the United States and Spain while serving in the United States Air Force settling in Georgia in 1970.

Joanne is survived by her three children Stephanie Hubbard-Meisel, Stacey Mangum (Tim) and Mathew Hubbard, four grandchildren, Jeremie Meisel (Kayla), Tyler Mangum (Emily), Abigail Mangum, Jane Hubbard and three great grandchildren, Evelyn, Henry and Charlotte Meisel and her younger brother, George Register (Susan).

In more recent years, Joanne could often be found honing her kayaking skills at the cabin she adored. Always in heels, sometimes fur, always with attitude, Joanne lived a full and active life. She served as PTA president ("Vote for Mother Hubbard"), was a memorable Board Member for the Theodore Medora Roosevelt Foundation.

(The new facility now known as the Joanne Hubbard Fitness Center after Joanne walked 18 holes in heels!) She also enjoyed a competitive bridge game and playing ALTA tennis. Her legendary net shots scaring most seasoned players!

Joanne enjoyed studying the bible at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, a long-time member of PEO (not Pigs Eat Out) and was very active in the Republican Party. Last, but certainly not least, she loved her 1 OK daily steps. (Often­ times followed with calls to the granddaughters making sure she had the most!) Fruit Loop, as she was affectionately known, spent over twenty years working with Clark Howard as a volunteer. This work inspired her to earn her Masters Degree in finance in 1992. Among her many accomplishments, Joanne might just have been most proud of her stint as Top Security at the 1996 Olympics Badminton tournaments.

Joanne fought a brave fight with cancer, she went to heaven on October 26, 2021 surrounded by family and friends. Joanne survived her husband, Brigadier General Don Hubbard in the Georgia Air National Guard, and a retired Delta Senior Captain.
