John earned a degree in Education from the University of Missouri–Columbia and dedicated many years of his professional life to Kaiser/United Healthcare before retiring. He was known for his kind heart, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family.
In retirement, John found his greatest joy in spending time with his cherished granddaughter, Annabelle, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come. He was also an avid sports fan who rarely missed the opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. Whether gathered with family or enjoying a game, John appreciated life's simple pleasures and the company of those he loved.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Neil Peterson.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Julie; his daughters, Amanda St. Peter and Elizabeth Peterson; his granddaughter, Annabelle Peterson; his son-in-law, Gordon Overholtzer; his sister, Linda Shaff; and his brother, Chuck Peterson. His love, guidance, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, Georgia.
