Josephine Armstrong

Mrs. Josephine Armstrong, age 97, of Marietta, passed away June 19, 2012. Mrs. Armstrong graduated from Commercial High School in 1933 and faithfully attended the class reunions for over 50 years. She was also a long-time member of Mt. Gilead Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Lionel Armstrong, two sisters, Mary E. Fain, of Atlanta, and Helen Taylor of Charlotte, NC, and a brother, Jack Bell of Atlanta.

She is survived by her sons, George B. "Bert" (wife, Susan) Armstrong, of Tate, and Bill (wife, Carol) Armstrong, of Marietta; seven grandchildren, Travis, Robin, Stephen, Bryan, Christopher, Cameron, and Casey; three great-grandchildren, Sierra, Kade, and Lincoln.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 25, at 2:00 PM in Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon, 1:00 - 2:00 at the funeral home prior to the service.

I am SO sorry that I JUST learned about the passing of Josephine and was not able to attend her funeral. But I DO know that she is now in great joy in heaven, as she believed and trusted in Jesus as her Lord & Savior.

Patsy and I wanted to tell you again how sorry we are about your Mother. We will keep you and the rest of the family in our thoughts and prayers.

George,We are truly saddened to learn of the passing of Ms. Josephine. She was truly an inspiration to every one who was fortunate enough to know her. You and Bill have so much to be thankful for in getting to keep your Mother for this length of time. I just wish that Grady and I could have had more time to spend with Ms.Josephine. She will truly be missed by all down here but Heaven has gained a grand and glorious 'angel'.
