Lila Taylor Scott

Lila was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on October 28, 1941 to Glenn and Alice Taylor. She graduated from Carson Macedonia High School in Carson, Iowa. Lila was married to Drex on May 13, 1961. They were married 58 years.

Lila worked as a technical editor for The Better Homes and Gardens; American Patchwork & Quilting Magazine for many years. She enjoyed the theatre, cooking, gardening, volunteering, attending class reunions, watching her grandchildren during their extra-curricular activities, traveling to the Florida Emerald Coast and participating in various quilting groups. She loved creating quilts of all kinds (wall hangings, table tops, lap, bed and accent pieces to place around the house).

Lila is survived by her loving husband Drex, son, Glenn and his wife Monica; daughter Cathy Patterson and her husband Steve; and son Steven and his wife Karen. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; Taylor Scott, Mason Patterson, Carson Patterson, Olivia Patterson, Shelby Scott, Austin Scott, Cole Weinman, Garrett Scott, Natalie Scott and numerous family and friends.

Lila is preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Alice Taylor and In-Laws George and Florence Schryver.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30, July 8th at Mt, Bethel United Methodist Church, Marietta, Georgia. Kim McGarr will be officiating.
