Luther Paschal (Pat) Cowan, 88, passed away on November 18, 2018. Born in Atlanta to Luther and Annabelle Cowan in 1930, Pat graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a Master’s degree in polymer chemistry from the University of Akron. From 1952 to 1954, he served honorably in the US Army in Korea.
His desire to see the world led to an international career with B.F. Goodrich where he and his family lived in the Philippines, Iran, and Australia for 22 years. When he retired, he moved to South Carolina where he attended church and enjoyed sailing, golf, tennis and bridge.
Pat is survived by his loving and grateful daughters: Holly Cowan of Chicago, Susan (Tim) Canney of Fort Collins, CO, and Jillian (Jeff)Meaux of Marietta, GA, his four grandchildren and one great-grandson. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his commitment to his career and his kindness to his children.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Lawnwood Memorial Park in Covington, Georgia.
