

Marco “Mike” Battaglini, beloved husband of Nancy (Caiafa) for 58 years, passed away at the age of 81 on Friday, September 24, 2021. He was born on November 23, 1939, in Flushing, New York, the son of Carlo and Rose (DiNello) Battaglini of Italy and stepson of Ralph Lattanzio. Mike was employed as an accountant at Equitable Life since he finished high school in addition he also worked part time for many years at Ferrari’s Florist. He moved to Georgia in 1983 when his company relocated there. He retired from his job 26 years ago to spend more time with his family.
Mike was an avid fan of the New York Mets, but he also rooted for the Atlanta Braves. Mike was never one to sit idly by, he was constantly referred to as the “energizer bunny”. He was always working on one project or another, whether it was outside doing yard work or inside doing house repairs. He not only did it in his own home he did it for his children and nephews. He was very family oriented, he coached his son’s baseball team, cheered his children, niece and nephews on for all of their sporting events and various activities. This continued for his three grandchildren. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. He was a master at barbecuing and shared the household chores with his wife.
Mike was an adoring husband, father, son, brother, brother in law, uncle and grandfather. In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his daughter, Kim, his son in law, Tom, his daughter in law, Amber and his three grandchildren, Emily, Michael and Matthew, his sister Angela, his brother in law Tom and his nephews and nieces, Tommy, Maggie, Ryan, Lisa, Roseann, George, Anthony and Johanna. His son Carl predeceased him on September 5, 2021.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church 4905 Roswell Road Marietta, Georgia.
