Margaret Anne Early, born of parents who immigrated to the US from County Cork, Ireland, with her older brother Liam Seamus ("Uncle Bill" to us) in tow. They settled in Syracuse, New York and soon after her sister Eileen was born. The family never had much from a monetary standpoint, but they were a family rich in faith, spirit, values, positive attitude and love for one another.
Margaret Anne Early was a mother of six children. Yes, 6 children in 7 years. She was more than just a "mother".............she was a teacher, a healer, a confidant, a cheerleader, a mentor, a sounding board and an arbiter. Margaret Anne " known as Peggy" to her friends loved to revel in the successes of her children and played a big part in those successes yet would never take credit.
Grandchildren arrived in 1985 and Peggy then became known as "Grandma". This term took on many forms.........."Grandma Early", "Grandma Peggy" or just simply "Grandma" by all of those who knew her best. Grandma was the epitome of grace: she was classy, never wanted to be the center of attention and enjoyed family and life to the fullest. Her faith knew no bounds. She never judged or picked favorites yet had a wonderful way of making anyone/everyone feel very special when they were in her presence.
We wish she were still here with us, but I personally thank her for the role she played in my life. I am the wife and mother that I am today because of her. God Bless You Grandma and until we see you again!
Linda Early (daughter-in-law)
