

Marilyn Marie Joseph Norvill, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and quiet strength. Born on June 6, 1947, in Indiana, Marilyn was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Frances Joseph and Vivian Marie Strebig Joseph.
Marilyn devoted much of her professional life to serving others as a librarian with the Cobb County School System. She had a deep love for books, learning, and helping young minds grow, and she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues through her patience, warmth, and commitment to education.
She was the cherished wife of James Ellis Norvill, with whom she shared many years of love and companionship. Together, they built a life rooted in care, resilience, and mutual support. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Vivian Joseph. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, James, daughter, Leah, son-in-law, Richard, and two grandsons, Josh and Seth, whom she loved very much, as well as extended family members, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her career.
Marilyn will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her dedication to her work, and her unwavering love for her family. Her presence brought comfort and wisdom to those who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A private service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local library or literacy program in Marilyn’s memory.
