He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He later retired from A.L. Laboratories after 30 plus years. He was a man of great faith and dedication. His faith and his family were the most important parts of his life. He was and will be remembered as a loyal husband and loving father who always put his family first.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Merle Powell Price.
He is survived by his children, Dawn and Robert Crowe, Tanya and Jim Akins, Chris “Mert” and Christine Price; sister-in-law, Kathlyn Bell; grandchildren, Dan and Joy Roark, Kiera and Abraham Salazar, Heather Mosier, Angie and Bill Kirkpatrick, Brooke Akins, Anna and Ray Carver, Leaston Hill, Katie Malcolm; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 4 until 7 PM on Wednesday at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 4 at 10 AM at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. A Memorial service will be held later in the year once circumstances improve and we can gather freely.
