Mrs. Mary Ruth Ward, 83 of Marietta passed away December 17, 2012. She was born to the late James and Rose VanRyn on December 5, 1929 in Wilkinsburg, PA. She moved to New York in 1958 and then to Marietta in 1974. She worked for the Cobb County Board of Elections. Mary spent many hours volunteering with Northside Hospital, MUST ministries, Meals on Wheels and for the hospitality committee at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mary was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Kimberly Ward. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph H. Ward, son Kevin Ward and his wife Anita, grandchildren, Andra Ward, Mandi Torres, Joseph H. Ward, II, James Ward and Tomas Ward and great-grandchildren, Alejandro and Caleb Torres. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on both Thursday and Friday from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
