OBITUARY

Michael J. Tolbert

May 2, 1953December 28, 2019

Mr. Michael “Mike” John Tolbert, age 66, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on December 28, 2019. Mr. Tolbert, a native Atlantan, was born in 1953 to Billy & Reguina Tolbert. After graduating Social Circle High School, Mr. Tolbert graduated from Augusta College. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Upon discharge, he began a career in Banking & Finance and with the Small Business Administration in Disaster Assistance. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and yard work. Mike is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Tippett Tolbert; a sister, Pam (Greg) Tolbert; a half-sister, Becky Hood, two nieces and one nephew; and a host of loved ones and friends. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of H.M. Patterson & Son – Canton Hill Chapel, in Marietta. The family will receive guests during visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment in Social Circle City Cemetery will follow the service. Carolyn is a childhood friend from Westminster School, who I recently re-connected with. I found her on this journey in the last chapter where she remained hopeful always.
