Nancy O'Connell

Mrs. Nancy Clark O’Connell, 82, of Marietta, GA passed away on June 8, 2012. Nancy was born to the late George and Mary Clark on August 17, 1929 in Hartford, CT. She grew up in East Hartford. After marrying William O’Connell, she lived in many cities and raised her children throughout the United States as her husband served in the U.S. Army. They settled down in Marietta, GA in 1973. She loved to read and she loved her children, grandchildren and her dogs. She was a member of the service sorority Beta Sigma Phi, serving the Cobb Marietta Girls Club. Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, William O’Connell, Col. Ret. US Army, children, Mark O’Connell (Ann) Washington, Il, Sarah O. Shepard (Mark) Weybridge, England, Catherine O. Emery (Richard) Marietta, GA, Joan O. Benedetto (Tim) Marietta, GA, W. Matthew O'Connell (Amy) Lebanon, OH, grandchildren, William O’Connell, Elizabeth Shepard, Katie Rue, Nicholas Emery, Patrick O’Connell, Christopher O’Connell, John O’Connell and great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Shepard Morris. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11:00 am at The Catholic Church of St. Ann, Marietta, GA. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill.
