Nancy graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Social Work degree. Nancy devoted her professional life to early childhood education, serving as an early childhood teacher. She was known for her patience, kindness, and the meaningful impact she made on the many children she taught throughout her career.
She loved spending time on the tennis cout, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and gathering with friends for game nights. Faith played a central role in her life, and she treasured the friendships and fellowship she found through Bible study.
She is lovingly survived by her two children, Drew Van Gorp of Austin, TX and Anne Van Gorp of Atlanta.
A memorial service is currently being planned and will be held at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, Georgia at 2:00 pm, June 30th. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly ask that you consider a donation in Nancy's name to Breast Cancer Research Foundation. (www.bcrf.org)
Nancy will be remembered for her warmth, dedication to children, and the love she shared with her family and community.
During this time of sorrow, the family finds comfort in Scripture:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” — John 14:27
Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
