

Nannie was born on January 21, 1932, in Pontotoc, Mississippi, to the late Roy and Urine Green.
Nannie started her culinary career at the age of 17 with Walgreens. She was a passionate cook. Her passion allowed her to have the unique opportunity of meeting many famous people; Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, and B.B.King, to name a few.
In 1991, Nannie joined the Kennesaw Police Department as a cook. The police department is where she found the most joy. Around the police department she was known as Ms. Ann. The officers and inmates knew that when Ms. Ann was cooking they would be well taken care of. In 2016, after 25 years with the Kennesaw Police Department, Nannie retired.
Nannie passing is preceded by her husband William Reuben Wylie, and her two daughters Rita Kay Woodard and Karen Jean Houghton.
Nannie is survived by her two sisters, Pauline and Willie Mae; her grandchildren, Crystal and Dennis Lueninghoener, Stephanie and Kenneth Boone, Valarie Woodard, Ashley and Robert Groff, Charlene and Billy Tolley, Josh Houghton; her great-grandchildren, Issac Houghton, Ariana Burnley, Billy Valenica, Torey Valencia, Tommy Valenica, Justynn Rivera-Woodard and Emilee Rivera; and her unofficially adopted son, Joe Johnson.
A celebration of Nannie’s life will begin with visitation on Monday, October 18, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. The celebration will conclude with a graveside service on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 3:00 pm. Visitation and the service will be held at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery Winkenhofer Chapel, 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta, GA 30060.
