Nell T. Jackson

Nell T. Jackson (Thornbury), age 93 of Marietta, GA passed away May 15, 2011. Nell was born on August 20, 1917 in Norfolk, VA to Joseph and Cora Thornbury. She moved to Louisville, KY and met and married her husband Joe in 1946. They lived in Maryland until his death in 1959. Nell then moved back to Kentucky. There she began working for General Mills, and later worked for them in Chattanooga until her retirement in the late 1970’s. Nell then moved to Marietta to be with her daughter and granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Parker Jackson, brother Joe Thornbury and sister Sara Jaglowicz. She is survived by her daughter Mary Lynn Gaughan and her husband Bob, granddaughter Kelly Neumeier and her husband Mike and sister Mary Carter. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011 at The Catholic Church of St. Ann. There will be a reception following the service.
