Mr. Norman F. Mitchell, born March 26, 1940 in Dayton, OH passed away November 28, 2012 in Marietta, GA. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Anna (Peg) Mitchell, children, Scott Mitchell (Renee) of Plano, TX, Amy Knopka (Bill) of Napa, CA, Bruce Mitchell (Laurie) of San Clemente, CA and Jill Poe of Canton, GA, seven grandchildren, Emily, Abigail and Ellie Mitchell, Will and John Knopka and Katie and Hannah Poe. He is also survived by sisters, Linda Waker (Tom), Susie Thomas and Debbie Leftwick (Jack) along with aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. He graduated from the University of Dayton and held a Master’s Degree from Indiana University. He was a retired Executive Search Consultant. Norman was a long time member of the Indian Hills Country Club. He was also a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Knights of Columbus at The Catholic Church of St. Ann. He served on the board of Communities in Schools and was a mentor at the Performance Learning Center. He loved to travel and spend time with friends. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00-6:00pm at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill. A funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, December 3, 2012 at 11:00am at the Catholic Church of St. Ann, 4905 Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Norman to Communities in Schools of Marietta Cobb County, 316 Alexander St, Ste 5, Marietta, GA 30060. H.M. I just today learned of Norm's passing. Norm loved his family more than anyone I know. Not a day went by when you could not see how much he loved his wife and children. He did a lot for many. I am so sorry I just now learned of his passing. God Bless you, Norm.
