

Ollie Mae (Polly) Hembree Chandler passed away Thursday at the age of 90. She was employed by the Unique Knitting Mill in her early years, the Bell Bomber plant during the war and later retired from the Internal Revenue Service. Her chief joys in life were raising her children, partnering with her husband in building homes, travelling and refining her collections of Royal Doulton figurines, Depression glass and Aladdin lamps. She was a member of the Acworth United Methodist Church, the Acworth Garden Club and the bridge club for many years. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her quick smile, her ready laughter and her kind, fun loving, and generous spirit.
She is survived by her sons Grady Hilton and Diane Chandler, Michael Ray and Linda Chandler; daughter Joan Carole and Richard Boyer; grandchildren Kelly Chandler, Missy Stewart, Michelle Creelman, Chandler Robinson, John Chandler and Mei Mei Chandler; great-grandchildren Stacey Barnette, Mandy Rogers, Matt Rogers, Drew Stewart, Chandler Stewart, Davis Stewart, Angelina Creelman and Sebastian Robinson: great-great grandchildren Zach Rogers and Angelina Coffey. Also surviving are her brothers: Claude Hembree of Jacksonville, FL, Bill and Blanche Hembree of Chatham, Ontario, Canada, Sam Hembree of Powder Springs, GA and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband of 71 years, Grady H. Chandler, Sr. preceded her in death July 29, 2009.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 1:00 at the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. David Crawley officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 11:00 to 1:00.
