

Paul Harper Butler of Acworth, Georgia passed away on March 31, 2025 at the age of 96. He was born in Winter Haven, Florida to Samuel and Ruth Butler in February 1929, he was the seventh of nine children.
Paul lived a life full of love, laughter and joy and his family will forever cherish his “down on the farm” stories. He couldn’t get through a story without starting to laugh when he was getting to his favorite part!
As an Electrical Engineer, Paul dedicated 24 years of his life to the space program contributing to its development in ways that have had a lasting impact even today. He went on to serve as Project Engineer and Chief Operating Officer for a defense technology company in Marietta, Georgia.
As a man of faith Paul experienced a changed life through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and loved sharing his faith with others. Paul attended and served at First Baptist Church Woodstock for 26 years and recently he and his wife Betty became members of Shiloh Hills Baptist Church in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Paul shared 62 wonderful years with his first wife Nona Brummett Butler who preceded him in death in 2014. Paul was blessed to have a second chance of love with his wife of nine years, Betty Butler of Acworth, GA.
Paul is survived by his wife Betty, his son Paul H. Butler Jr. and wife Gladys of Norfolk, VA, his son Phillip Butler of Canton, GA and his daughter Laura Phillips and husband Phil of Woodstock, GA along with 12 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren.
A visitation for Paul will be held Monday, April 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Following the visitation will be a funeral service at 3:00 PM at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, GA 30060.
