

On September 24, 2021, Peggy Jean Bryant Watkins went to be with the Lord. Peggy was a devout Christian and was never hesitant or ashamed to share her love and belief in God and Jesus Christ with all her heart.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Robert Howard (Bob) Watkins and was married to him for over 68 years (married June 19, 1953).
Peggy and Bob had five children: sons, Kyle Stanford Watkins (wife Donna Lee Watkins), Steven Michael Watkins, (wife, Elizabeth Leigh Chambers Watkins); daughters, Bobbi Elizabeth Watkins Mitchell (husband, Samuel Edward Mitchell), Angela Kathryn Watkins Smith (husband, Steve Edward Smith), Cynthia Jeanne Watkins Lynch (husband, Steve Allen Lynch); ( who all married and produced twelve grandchildren and two great grandchilden). In addition, Peggy is survived by her brother, Donald Earl Bryant, sisters, Linda Annette Bryant Caviness, Mavis T’lene Bryant Tillotson.
Peggy was born on July 10, 1933 in Chattanooga, TN. The family moved to Hapeville, Ga, then to Decatur, GA. Peggy graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School; attended Georgia State University and worked as a dental assistant until marriage. She worked for short periods of time at National Linen Corporation and at the Federal Bank in Marietta. Most of her time was spent raising a family, spending time in church and school PTA activities. She and her husband Bob, spent time traveling to places in the US and Canada. Her husband Bob suffered a stroke in 2005, and she suffered a stroke in 2018. Both recovered, but both had injuries and were forced to function at a lower level than before. They continued to work together and to develop a deeper love for each other. In September, she had a massive stroke which resulted in her going to her heavenly home.
