

“Ricky” grew up in East Point and attended Briarwood High School where he was a four-letter athlete. He received a full athletic scholarship to the University of Tennessee, where he played football and baseball. Following graduation, Ricky was a teacher and coach at Fayette County High School and Jonesboro High School. He began his business career with Delta Airlines in May 1980, joining Worldspan in 1991. In 2005, he earned his International MBA from Kennesaw State University. At the time of passing he was employed by AT&T.
Ricky was preceded in death by his mother, Betty McCoy Heath, his father, David Wesley Heath, and brother, Lary Heath.
He is survived by his spouse, Christa Evans Heath, sons John Wesley Heath and Zachary Rossman Heath, stepson Austin Alexander Miller, sister Anne Heath, brothers David (Susan) and Steven (Margaret), several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, father- and mother-in-law Bill and Linda Evans, sister-in-law Angela Evans, and his loving companion, Apollo.
Ricky was loved for his generosity and gregarious nature by all who knew him.
A viewing will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, at 5pm on Monday, June 9th, following by a memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family would like to honor Ricky by making donations in his name to the City of East Point’s Jefferson Park Recreation Center and Holcomb Bridge Middle School.
