

Rita Martha Mooney Dunn, 84, of Marietta, GA passed away April 26, 2013, following the recent death of her beloved husband of 64 years, Thomas P. Dunn, Sr. Born in Manhattan, NY to the late Harry and Martha Mooney, she grew up in the Bronx and graduated from the St. Nicholas of Tolentine Catholic School. After raising 7 children, Rita attended the University of Dallas/St. Paul’s School of Nursing. Her initial focus was pediatric nursing until relocating to Atlanta, GA, where she practiced adult/geriatric care and dermatology. Rita’s true vocation was nurturing her husband and extended family. She was the president of the Woman’s Guild at St. Patrick and George Catholic Church in Yorktown Heights, NY, president of the Woman’s Evening Guild at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, GA, member of the parish council and a Eucharistic minister to the sick. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her grandchildren, Matthew T. Dunn, Meghan M. Gaugh and Keegan F. Gaugh. She is survived by her, sons, Laurence J. Dunn (Kathy) and Thomas P. Dunn, Jr. (Cathy), daughters, Kathleen D. Coleman (Mark), Coleen D. Gregory (Jake), Maureen Dunn, Denise D. Stanton (Brett) and Bethann D. Phifer (Gary), and many treasured grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:00am in Nolan Hall at The Catholic Church of St. Ann.
