Robert Virgil Burley, 93, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 28, 2013. A funeral service will be held at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel on Thursday, at 11:00 a.m., with the burial to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell. Robert was born in Wayne County, Iowa on March 31, 1920 to the late Walter and Franka Burley. After high school he joined the Air Force where he would serve both in North Africa and the Korean War. During this time he spent 18 months as a POW in Germany. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Leila; and granddaughter, Brandi. Robert is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Tim Burley and his wife Vicki; daughter Rhonda Burley, grandson Ryan, and 4 great grandchildren. H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Directors, Canton Hill Chapel is honored to be handling his arrangements.

So sorry for your loss of your husband, father and grandfather. Please never allow anyone to tell you "God takes people" or a person's death is “God's will". The book of James 1:13 states God would never be the cause of anyone's pain or hurt. Keep praying for the answers to your questions because He will answer you with love and clarity
