Bob was born in Marengo, Illinois, to Dorothy and Galen Foster. He married his high school sweetheart, Patsy, and they have enjoyed 69 wonderful years together. He graduated from Bradley University with a degree in Architecture and built a career with the Kawneer Company. He and Pat have loved calling Georgia home for over 40 years.
Bob will be most remembered for his kind and generous nature. He loved his family, his friends, fly fishing, fly tying, hunting and woodworking. Bob was a proud member of the Upper Chattahoochee Chapter of Trout Unlimited and volunteered his time and talent with the Atlanta Flyfishing School, and the Georgia Council of Trout Unlimited He will be sadly missed by many longtime friends he made in the Atlanta flyfishing community.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Patsy, his sons Jeffrey (the late Erin) and Stephen (Elise), and granddaughters Miranda and Mia Foster. Bob was the dear brother of the late Ronald (Mary) and the late Richard (Susan) Foster. A Celebration of Life gathering for Bob, his friends and family, will be held next week in Illinois.
A Fisherman’s Prayer
God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day,
And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray,
When in the Lord’s great landing net, and peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judged, good enough to keep.
Until we meet again, tight lines Bob!
