Bob was born into a loving home and at an early age received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He served him throughout his life as a faithful servant, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Bob was known for his love for people. He gave of himself and instilled his love into others as he exemplified the qualities of a true servant-leader. He led with purpose, always had a plan, and that plan was in his planner, which never left his side. He was not one to go with the flow, but rather, he was the one creating the flow.
Bob had a commanding presence, and when he walked into a room, he seemed to be in charge and usually was. He was a gentle giant but had a kind and tender heart. He was one who saw the good in others. He was persuasive and was skilled in building teams to join him in his endeavors. He had the ability to work with people of all ages, but he loved working with young people even into his 80’s.
Bob has been widowed since he lost the love of his life, Jan Fraumann, in 2013. He is survived by his sons, Rick and his wife, Laura Fraumann of Austin, Texas, Greg and his wife, Terri Fraumann of Navarre, Ohio; five grandchildren: Bobby Fraumann and his wife, Sabrina Fraumann; Brittany Peterson and her husband, Nate Peterson; Victoria Fraumann and her fiancé, Daniel Frase; Sofia Fraumann; and Courney Maddox. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, Caydence Fraumann, Michaela Fraumann, Jonathon Peterson, Malachi Fraumann, Abigail Fraumann, and Katie Grace Peterson.
Bob was a man who wore many hats. He was a family man, minister of music, concert pianist, conductor, businessman, motivational speaker, teacher, and mentor to many. The common thread that wove his life together was how he approached everything passionately with the intent to glorify God. His goal was not only to create music, but that the message within the music would change hearts.
Bob had a full career that included 60 years of ministry, from the age of 19 to 79. He was a Minister of Music for four churches: Centenary United Methodist Church, Ashland, Kentucky, First United Methodist Church East Point, Georgia, First United Methodist Church Sandy Springs, Georgia, and Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia.
Some of the highlights of his ministry included touring the country with The Youth Crusaders during his summers in college, traveling across the country to hold revivals, and seeing hundreds of teenagers make decisions for Christ. Bob had the largest choir program in the state of Georgia with over 600 choir members in 14 choirs. He conducted weeklong youth choir tours for 43 years throughout the country and in Jamaica. He conducted over 80 Easter and Christmas cantatas, many with full orchestra. Bob conducted over 1,000 concerts with his choirs over a span of sixty years.
Bob performed for two Presidents of the United States, Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama. Bob was the featured performer at the 2010 National Day of Prayer Breakfast held for the President of the United States, Cabinet members, and members of Congress, Tim Tebow, and dignitaries from 119 countries. He coordinated and provided music for President Ronald Reagan with over 15,000 people in attendance, including Miss America, Cheryl Pruitt Blackwell.
Bob has spoken to thousands of people in business development and leadership training seminars throughout North America and the Caribbean.
He performed at the funeral for his good friend, United States Senator Johnny Isakson.
He performed in Carnegie Hall twice. The first was under the direction of Leonard Bernstein, performing Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony for nine concerts, and later in a choral performance accompanying Steven Curtis Chapman.
Bob was a concert pianist. He released an album of his piano arrangements, which combined classical music with sacred music. The album is entitled To God Be the Glory and is posted on Spotify and YouTube.
Bob and his wife, Jan, were Diamond Direct Amway distributors and spoke throughout the country in training and motivational speaking seminars to thousands of attendees.
Bob taught lessons to thousands of piano and voice students who adored him. Not only did he teach his students to be proficient in music, but he also shared his faith, taught them about life, and challenged them to become productive people. Music was the method he used to influence and impact his students.
Bob earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky, with a major in organ performance, and also earned a master’s degree in conducting with a minor in voice and organ from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey.
Bob was an author and wrote a book to memorialize his wife’s life entitled God’s Blessed Angel. He also wrote a joke book compiling many of his favorite jokes.
Even though Bob accomplished many things in his personal life, the qualities he was most known for were his love for Jesus Christ, his love for his beautiful wife of 56 years, and his understanding of how to be used as an instrument for the Lord to touch people’s hearts through music.
