Robert John Martoncik Sr, of Ellijay, GA passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 4th, 2026 at home with his loving family at his side.
Robert "Bob" Martoncik was born on July 13, 1941, in Redstone Township (Colonial #3), Pennsylvania, to the late John and Margaret (Kolesar) Martoncik. He graduated from Fairchance-Georges High School in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
Bob served four years in the United States Air Force Security Service, with duty assignments in Okinawa and Ent AFB Colorado Springs, CO. After completing training at Keesler Air Force Base, he served as a Morse Code Intercept Operator. His military technical experience paved the way for a successful 34 year career in information technology. Following his honorable service, he held several management positions with Tri-State Engineering in Washington, PA, Ernst & Ernst in Cleveland, OH, and Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA.
A dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Bob's light will continue to shine in the lives of his family and all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Martoncik, stepfather, Stanley Suba and his brother, Thomas Martoncik.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary (Salay) Martoncik; his children, Leigh Anne (Robert) Sante of Norfolk, VA, Amy Martoncik (Mark) Harris of Ellijay, GA, Rob (Carolina) Martoncik of Woodstock, GA, and Scott (Diana) Martoncik of Stafford, VA; and his brother, George (Judy) Martoncik of Phoenix, AZ.
He also leaves behind nine cherished grandchildren: Josh, Joey, Ashley, Mia, Sabrina, Thomas, John, Charlotte, and Ben; and two great-grandchildren: Maverick and Beau.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church, in the Chapel, at 1815 Blackwell Road, Marietta, Georgia 30066, on August 14, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am.
The Committal of the Urn will take place at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, in the Mausoleum Chapel, at 2000 Cobb Pkwy SE, Marietta, Georgia 30060, US, on August 14, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm.
