He enjoyed piddling outside and he was known as “lighting” for always taking his time. Robert retired from Harland Check Company and the National Guard as a Staff Sergeant 151st Medical Company at Dobbins Air Force base. He loved spending time with his late wife, Linda, at after school events and was a longtime member of the Jaycee’s and Jaycette’s. Mr. Owens was a devoted family man whose main concern was the well being of his family. In his younger years he spent lots of time at the lake, hunting, camping, fishing and working on anything and everything. Mr. Owens was preceded in death by his devoted wife Linda Waddell Owens, his parents Claude and Grace Owens, his brothers James, Junior, and Jimmy Owens and his great-granddaughters Taya, Tessa and Tenly Tatum. Surviving are daughters Robin (Ken) Cantrell of Franklin, Melanie Tatum of Jackson, brother Ronnie Owens, sisters Francis Reddish, Betty Rowell, and Jeannie Hawkins, grandchildren Kinley, Noah, and Lily Cantrell, Austin Tatum, Lovey (Caleb) Burpee, Garrett Mays, great-grandchildren Waylon Burpee, several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank a special group of caregivers that were so sweet to Daddy at Autumn Square.
