Robert Groehl Schneider, 89, a resident of Parc at Piedmont, East Cobb, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2019. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born in Great Barrington, MA on October 23, 1929, he was the son of the late Emil and Marion Schneider. Bob and his twin sister, Barbara, grew up in Monterey, MA; Brooklyn, New York; and Havana, Cuba. He graduated from the Cheshire Academy in 1947 and the University of Missouri with a business degree in 1951. He went on to serve as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in 1951-1953. While watching the Ed Sullivan show on TV, he saw a beautiful dancer. Serendipitously, he was able to meet her, fell in love and married the woman that captured his eye, Mary Bos on May 11, 1958. Bob worked as a customer service manager at Beloit Jones Corporation in Pittsfield, MA for 32 years. When he retired, he and Mary moved to Hendersonville, NC and in 2014 they moved to the Parc at Piedmont in Marietta, GA. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed skiing, golfing, bowling, exercising, and later in life, cornhole and Wii bowling. He also enjoyed traveling and keeping up with current events. He leaves behind his loving wife, Mary B. Schneider; his daughter, Kathy M. Schneider and her partner, Natasha Pashoska; his daughter Karen S. Huban and her husband, Timothy C. Huban; and his two grandchildren, Kelly R. Huban and Eric R. Huban. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to MUST Ministries or to Good Mews in Marietta, GA.

Dear Mary and family,

Please accept the condolences of the Makuc families from Monterey as well. We were gathered on the shores of Lake Garfield to celebrate some of our family milestones today literally next door to the Schneider house in Monterey. Our cousin Ann Kousch had sent us this link. Our mother Anne Leuchs Makuc was also a cousin who enjoyed many of the wonderful times on the lake with Bob and I remember Fourth of July picnics there when I was a child. Though there have been other owners since I still call Marion's parent's house the Groehl house. And the same for the Schneider house. We are sorry for your loss.

Dear Mary, loving daughters and families,
My mother, Elisabeth Leuchs Tucker, spoke often of her wonderful times in Monterey, with cousins Bobby and Barbara.
I recall family picnics with many loving relatives in attendance, on Lake Garfield. Please accept my sincere sympathy on your loss. Life is so short and love is so deep. Ann Tucker Kousch
