Robert Wayne Starks

Robert “Bob” Wayne Starks, 55, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, while on work assignment in Ventura, California.

Bob was born on February 8, 1960, eldest son of Donald and Iredell Starks of Meridian, MS. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wife Joan Trepagnier Cushen Starks of 18 years; their 3 children William Randolph Cushen III, Lindsay Cushen Clarke and her husband Travis, Julianne Cushen Katz and her husband Joel; and their 4 granddaughters Katie Elise Cushen, Harper Isabella Cushen, Amelia Marie Clarke and Willa Raye Clarke. He also leaves behind his 2 younger brothers Michael Lee Starks and wife Rachel, and Christopher Franklin Starks and wife Sherry.

Out of High School, he enlisted in the Navy from 1978-1984 working on the USS Independence doing flight maintenance and then transitioned into the Navy Reserves until 1993. From there he worked for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company for over 30 years, most recently as a Global Sustainment Field Services Staff Engineer on the C-130 aircraft doing Modification/Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (M/MRO) that took him all over the world and fostered his love of traveling. He became known as a “SME” or subject matter expert on the C-130. With his knowledge, love of traveling and his devoted wife Joan at his side they bought an RV over 2 years ago to drive across country for his work assignments in South Carolina, Texas, Mississippi and Rhode Island.

Viewing and reception will be held Friday January 29, 2016 from 10-11:30 am immediately followed by a memorial service at H. M. Patterson and Son Funeral Home, 1157 Old Canton Road, Marietta, GA. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery, 1306 Whitlock Avenue, Marietta, GA. Friends and relatives are invited.
