Sister, Sue Walker, brother, Charles Hollingsworth (Norma), and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ron was born on September 2, 1941 in Duncan Oklahoma. He was a devoted family man; who enjoyed going on family vacations up to the mountains or down at the beach. Panama City Beach was a favorite location as that was where he met and fell in love with Betsy over Spring Break. He always enjoyed being in the cheering section for his kids or grandkids whether it was a sporting event, concert, or play. Ron loved just being with family sharing a meal, celebrating holidays, birthdays, cheering on a favorite sports team, or just hanging out. One of his most favorite things to do was to talk about Jesus. He served the Lord as a good and faithful servant. Ron served many years in RUI, as a deacon and RA leader. He was instrumental in placing the Nativity in the Marietta Square along with offering Happy Birthday Jesus yard signs; to ensure people knew the Truth of Christmas. Ron stood on his faith unquestionably and encouraged his family and friends by doing so. He was a proud American and United States Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam War. He worked at Sears-Roebuck Company as a service technician until his retirement in 1997. One of Ron’s favorite Bible verses was Joshua 24:15, “As for me and my house; we will serve the Lord.” Ron lived this verse and we as his family are confident in our joy of his Heavenly reward. We are grateful for the legacy Ron has left us and we will strive to honor his legacy as we live our lives until that beautiful day when we will all meet again.
