

Rose Marina Ghawi, daughter of Girious and Hind Marina, fell asleep in the Lord early Friday, May 23rd, 2014 in Kennesaw, Georgia. She was 92 years old. Rose was preceded in death by her late husband, George Alexander Ghawi and is survived and remembered by her sister, Isabelle Madi and 5 children: Lucy Ghawi Cavalcanti; Elie Ghawi and wife Kathy; Laila Ghawi Toubassi and husband Edmond; Tony Ghawi and wife Matilda; and Robert Ghawi. Rose is survived by 10 grandchildren: Chucri, Caroline, Katie, George, Rawan, Rani, Razan, Roy, Carl and Lara. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren. Born in Haifa, Palestine, Rose attended German boarding school and mastered multiple languages including Arabic, German, and English. Rose immigrated to the United States in the 1970’s and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. She will long be remembered for her devotion to God, church and family. As she ascends into Heaven, we are certain she is rejoicing and singing with the angels.
The family wishes to especially acknowledge and thank Billy McNair and Patricia Charboneau for the special care and compassion they provided Rose throughout the final days of her life. May Rose’s soul rest in peace and may her memory be eternal.
