Roxie Mae Boyd was born July 17 to the union of Hoskin Dupree, Sr. and Gnettie Tolefree Dupree of New Edenburg, AR.

Roxie attended Arkansas Public School System and at a young age was a member of Pleasant Grove AME Church. She moved to St. Louis, MO in 1963 where she worked at Milburn as an upholsterer. She met and married the love of her live, George E. Boyd in 1970 and to this union a combination of 12 children were united. They joined and became dedicated members of Rising Sun Missionary Baptist Church. In 1987 they moved to Smyrna, GA where they later joined and became faithful members of Greater Zion Hill Baptist Church.

In her leisure time she enjoyed fishing, cooking, church, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. She loved making people laugh, music and dancing. She always encouraged everyone to “Live Their Life”, but she never spared the rod.

Roxie Mae Boyd was preceded in death by her parents, Hoskin Dupree, Sr. and Gnettie Dupree. Her sisters; Macknora Grim, Sue and Nettie Dupree; brothers, AC Dupree, Sr., Sammie Dupree, Sr., and Hoskin Dupree, Jr.; one daughter and son; and a host of other family members.

Roxie Mae Boyd departed this life on February 2, 2019.

She leaved to cherish her memory, her husband of 48 years, George Edward Boyd, Sr.; daughters, Mary Deed (Willie), Roxie Robinson, Tracey West, Stacey Spratt (Steven), Dionne Boyd; sons, George Shaw (Sadie), George Boyd, Jr., James Boyd, Megale Boyd, Ryan Boyd; granddaughters, LaTasha Jones, Tamika Cann (Curtis), Nicole Turner, Palisia Robinson; grandsons, Ira Jones (Tracy), Emanuel Shaw, DeShaune Robinson; great grandchildren, Dartez Jones, Michael Jones, Nigel Jones, Armini Nelson, Arman Jones, Daelon Cann, Airyal Gauda, Armand Gauda; goddaughters, Evangelist Dr. Mae Russell, Sonya Sanders, Jennifer Howard; godson, Corey Gathering; sisters, Mable Gulley, Deloris Gamble; three close friends, Bessie Spencer, Katie Davis and Katie Rashad. And a host of many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
