Russell Douglas Eckerman

Russell (Russ) Douglas Eckerman, 72, of Marietta, GA passed away on Sunday, August 18. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Marietta, GA. Russ was born on August 26, 1940 in Cleveland, OH. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, loving grandfather and a dependable friend. Russ enjoyed camping and fishing trips with his sons, golfing, and woodworking. He adored his grandsons and loved spending time with them, especially attending their many baseball and football games. He was a dedicated business man, having worked for Pactiv Corporation over 30 years. He will always be remembered as a giving man who helped others, never letting anyone down. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell & Edythe Eckerman. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bert, their two sons Brian & Russell, Brian’s wife Denny, grandsons, Chase, Nicholas, Caden, and Alec, and sisters Janice Cicchella (Dan), and Dorothy Huston (John). The family will receive friends at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel.
